Alle Jahre wieder zum Saisonstart ruft Volker Schirmer von Buell Hannover zum BUELL Trackday, und alles was Rang und Namen oder einach Spaß am Buellfahren auf der Rennstrecke hat, lässt es sich nicht nehmen dem Ruf zu folgen. Mit 130 Anmeldungen an- nähernd ausverkauft -so auch in diesem Jahr, obwohl das uner- schütterliche Heer der Harleyfahrer in diesem Jahr fast komplett fehlt.

Wir kommen direkt vom Bremerhavenner Fischerei- hafenrennen nach Oschersleben, hatten dort noch die Kupplung gewechselt und direkt auf Oscherslebenübersetzung um- gebaut. So ist “Thors Hammer” die Hillbilly-Motors Doppelvergaser Rohrrahmen- rennmaschine, raceready wenn wir am späten Abend ankommen. Kurz später kommen Christian und Heiko vom Buell XBORG Raceteam in Oschersleben an. Sie mussten nach dem Unfall von Mike Funke beim Fishtownrace, die Gabel tauschen und diverse weitere Schäden beheben. Das war sehr wichtig, weil wir Supermototalent Jessica Baruth zum testen eingeladen hatten und “Thors Hammer” definitiv zu heftig für den Anfang ist. Jessi kommt aus der Red Bull Honda Rookies Cup und mischt seit 2 Jahren sehr erfolgreich in der Supermoto IDM Prestige Klasse mit. Nun soll sie erstmalig auf einem Bike dieser Gewichts- und Leistungsklasse testen. Beide Motoräder sind mit dem 1200cc “Shortstroke Attack” M-TeK Motor ausgerüstet, wobei im Rohrrahmenchassis noch mehr Dampf zu Hause ist als in der XB. In Sachen Fahrbarkeit ist jedoch die XB, bedingt durch die programmierbare Einspritzanlage, deutlich angenehmer.

Auch wenn das Wetter eher auf Regen stand konnte Jessi sehr deutlich zeigen dass sie mit einem Bike dieser Art gut zurechtkommt, immer schneller wurden über den Tag ihre Runden und im trockenen Turn am Nachmittag kam sie langsam an die Grenze der unfallbedingt verbauten Seriengabel. Well done! Schauen wir mal ob mehr draus wird. Tommy beschäftigte sich derweil mit der Abstimmung der beiden S&S Vergaser die nun unter vollem Dampf wieder anfingen Probleme zu machen. Eine Einspritzanlage ist eben schon was schönes...Nettes Highlight des Tages waren Volker Schirmer auf XBRR und Julius Ilmberger auf der XBORG XB RSS die sich rundenlang matchten und einen riesen Spaß hatten.

Each year Volker Schirmer from Buell Hannover celebrate the Seasonopener as the Buell Trackday at the Oschersleben Racetrack. This year the event is again nearly booked out. 130 Buellriders signed in and of course all racers who like to show up with their bikes in the 2007 season.

The press is there like all years to grab a Buell for a Tracktest. Special Bike this year is the “State of the Art” XB 12 R with a complete Öhlins suspension Setup and the Termignoni exhaust.

We came over directly from the 50th Bremerhaven Fishtownraces where Tommy Schuler with “Thors Hammer” the Twincarb Hillbilly-Motors Tubeframe Racebike finished in the class Fishtowntwins as 10th competing with the 4 Valve watercooled Ducatis and Aprillias. Also at Oschersleben our friends from the XBORG Raceteam with the Buell XB RSS Racebike. Both bikes are powered by a 1200cc “Shortstroke Attack” M-TeK engine. In the Tubeframe setup the engine have more power, but the drivebility of the XB is because of the adjustable injectionsystem much smoother. Heiko and Christian worked over night to repair the XBORG bike after Mikes crash in Bremerhaven and now the Bike is ready for testing. We had a date with Jessica Baruth for some first tests on the XB. Jessi comes from the Red Buell Rookie Honda Cup and race very succesful in the IDM Supermoto Prestigeclass. Here she will ride for the first time a bike with this weight and power.

Jessi is a real talent and from lap to lap it was visible that she was getting more and more control over the bike. In the end when it was drying up, she comes to the limitation of the stock fork, we mounted as spare after the crash of Mike... Well done! -we will see how it goes further with here and Buell.

Tommy was over the day still working on the Carb. setup, because here on the quick track our old problems coming back.

Nice Match of the day had Volker Schirmer on the XB RR with Julius Ilmberger on the XBORG XB, great to watch.
